Happy Eid-Ul Adha 2013

  

My dear fellow, this year i again took part in self-secrificing activity at home. We secrificed 4 he-goats (Bakraas). One at first day of Eid, and Three on next day.
It was really so fun. Whole of my family except aapi, were together, so Eid day remained worth-memorable. The photo shown here, is taken on 2nd day of Eid with srucified-animals. You may see a feel/smile of victory....haha
I miss you all my buddies...

TIME by P.B. Shelley

Today is the birthday of the great English poet P.B. Shelley (1792-1822). I'm going to share his poem that appealed me a lot...this was in my syllabus of English at school.

Kilogram is Losing Weight, say experts

London, Jan 24 (ANI): Experts want to define the kilogram, which came into existence two centuries ago. They fear it is not as constant as it should be.

Experts are willing to make the changes so that it is no longer based on the mass of a solid cylinder of platinum-iridium alloy that sits beneath three layers of protective glass sealed in a locked vault in Sevres, France. The metal block, known as the International Prototype Kilogram, has been used since it was first registered with International Bureau of weights and Measures (BIMP) in 1889 as the definitive unit of mass against which all other kilograms are measured.

In past 122 years, it has been brought out of storage just three times to calibrate the national prototype kilograms used by countries arount the world.

However, scientists now believe it is time to redefine the kilogram because there is evidence that the precise mass of the international prototype kilogram at Sevres is not as constant as it should be.

"We think it is losing weight, and we don't know why?" the independent quoted BIMS's Micheal Stock, as saying.

"From the three times we have had it out to make calibrations, we have had indications that it is not perfectly stable. It seems to have lost about 50 micrograms and there is no real explanation," he said.

"There are no real problems now but it it continues, then we may run into problems in 10 to 20 years' time because measurements are getting ever more precise. we need to anticipate the problems and, from time to time, we have to improve our definitions of the standard units of measurement-if you need to make an accurate measure of length, you need a good ruler," he added.

Rising Petrol Prices in Pakistan

I want to share a fact with you all, which come across to me today. "The price of petrol in the international market is hovering around US$36 a barrel. Now one barrel contains 210 litre of petrol. Which means a price of US$17 per litre in a barrel. Now as Pakistani Rupee today is more than 80 rupees t0 dollar, that translates into PKR 13.60 per litre in a barrel."

After reading this all, i'm thinking that he use of cycle for transportation is best policy to get rid of the created situation by government. I'm also going to lock my motercycle. Thanks God I've SOHRAB CYCLE at home...I know you are also thinking so. Don't hesitate and buy hundreds of cycles after selling your cars...GIVE CHARITY & EARN SAWAAB! This is the main purpose of rise-in-petrol-price by government. Petrol shortage is another strategy in this regard...

The Last day of 2009

Nobel Prize in Chemistry

The 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded to Venkatraman Ramakrishnan (UK), Thomas A. Steitz (USA), and Ada E. Yonath (Israel) for "for studies of the structure and function of the ribosome". The ribosome is the cellular machinery that translates the message encoded by the genetic code into proteins (translation). We understand the structure of ribosomes because the winners of this year's Nobel Prize used x-ray crystallography to image them. They then used three-dimensional models to describe how antibiotics bind to the ribosome. The models can be used to help develop new antibiotics, based on an understanding of the molecular conformation of the ribosomes in every cell.

Happy Summers to all. Definitely you'll think that how lazy this guy is to narrate his birthday(15 May) story. No doubt it is true that it's too late but actually this birthday was not as exciting as last ones. The reason was absence of my university friends specially I missed AKS too much. I celebrated this birthday along with my homies. I suggest you all, that never ever try to miss the celebration of this event because A birthday is just the first day of another 365-day journey around the sun. So enjoy the trip.
The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.
